Currently serving as a staff writer at The Express-Times in Easton, Pa., I cover local, county and state government in northwestern New Jersey, a dynamic region approximately an hour’s drive away from both New York City and Philadelphia.
In addition to serving my regular beat, I’ve reported on a wide-range of topics and newsmakers from the Penn State sex abuse scandal to the closure of a local coal plant, from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.
In February 2013, I was awarded third place in the New Jersey Press Association’s 2012 Better Newspaper Contest for a portfolio of environmental reporting and several months later in May, received a second place nod from the New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists for their 2012 Wilson Barto Award for First Year Reporters.
Selected clips of mine are available in the portfolio section of this site. A full listing of stories from my work at The Express-Times can be found here.
Previously, my byline has appeared in the Newark Star-Ledger, Washington City Paper, The Trentonian and other publications. I hold a B.A. in American Studies from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and am a proud native of Elizabeth, N.J., just across the Goethals Bridge from New York City.
