I’m Andrew. I read, listen and occasionally write. Quite often, my job depends on doing just that.
As a statehouse correspondent for NJBIZ, New Jersey’s statewide business journal, I cover the capital city of Trenton and its political and business players from the front lines. I’m always interested in mapping the intersection between the public and private sectors and there are few places more compelling to do so than from inside the walls of the New Jersey Statehouse.
Prior to joining NJBIZ, I spent roughly two years at The Express-Times of Easton, Pa., where I covered northern New Jersey and dabbled in everything from police beats to spelling bees to local and state politics.
Awards include third place in the New Jersey Press Association’s 2012 Better Newspaper Contest for a portfolio of environmental reporting and a second place nod from the New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists for their 2012 Wilson Barto Award for First Year Reporters.
Previously, my byline has also appeared in the Newark Star-Ledger, Washington City Paper, The Trentonian and other publications. I hold a B.A. in American Studies from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and am a proud native of Elizabeth, N.J., just across the Goethals Bridge from New York City.
